Gears of War is no "stop 'n' pop." It's stealth, it's *catch word* tactics, says Epic. We're behind closed doors, overlooking the jumbo-sized Microsoft booth down below. HD Samsung monitors glow as we get the walk through.
Press "Y" to get a point-of-interest. That means, players can check out scenes of helicopters crashing or buildings crumbling if they like. No pre-renders shoved down yer throat.

Resident Evil 4 homages and Halo pedigree aside, the game looks fab and is a solid shooter. Yet, the stealth angle is puzzling. Perhaps it's just the way Epic's packaging it to us journos, because as soon as a player fires their automatic weapon over and over, stealth goes out the window. This game isn't stealth or tactics. It's pure duck and cover.
