Rest easy. The Legend of Zelda is in good hands. To prevent the series from getting all wacky and pissing people off, Nintendo brings together company brass to discuss what is appropriate and not for future Zelda games. This ensures that the series has a continuous vision and tone. Conversely, Square-Enix does not have such a Jedi council to discuss Final Fantasy games, which is why design elements in things like the Chocobo characters change so much.
