The grand opening of Nintendo of Korea brought with it the official announcement of Maple Story for the DS, and a trailer that makes up for its lack of gameplay footage with insanely giggling and hopping schoolgirls.

While some believe that Maple Story DS will be an actual MMORPG following in the footsteps of its free side-scrolling PC cousin, I'm guessing that Wizet is going to take the same path as the Ragnarok Mobile Mage phone game, which is a self-contained game that lets you transfer money from the portable version to your character in the PC version of Ragnarok Online. No word yet on a US release of Maple Story DS, but if my prediction comes true I can hardly image Wizet and Nexon passing up the North American market. Michael Fahey
