Machinima Festival Gets Fancy Oscar Style Opening Movie

The 2006 Machinima Festival took a page from The Oscars this year and showed an opening video created by some of the nominees to kick off the festivities. This clip was part of a live performance by the ILL Clan and shows host Ill Will cavorting with some of the other nominee's characters in their respective game worlds. The Spartan Life, Red vs. Blue and others all helped in the creation of this great opener.

Now that video games are on the road to being considered an art form, perhaps they'll get an ostentacious awards ceremony complete with a red carpet and Joan Rivers. Ok, well maybe not Joan Rivers... no, make that definitely not Joan Rivers.

Wow. What utter dull and unfunny crap. Absolutely painful...and I mean that.

I'm going on record stating this: I can't WAIT for this extremely painful fad of "swearing makes it cool", Cartoon-network Family Guy-is psuedo humor to just go away. I mean that...just go away, please.

You're not funny, you don't sound funny. Ripping off other peoples' ideas, snide remarks... it was old ten years ago, it's even older now. STALE. Silly, stupid, just go away please.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about? I'm calling in the PC-generation (Perverse and Corrupted). Call it what you will, but the sooner this garbage goes away, things will get back to the evolution. Gah!

That was stupid. RvB vaguely resembled something funny. There should be no such thing as a machinima awards show until everything is at least on the same level as RvB.

If the Warcraft episode of South Park didn't win everything, then they are wrong.

RvB was funny, at times. The thing is, most machinima is'nt really funny, or even particularly good. Heavy.com had a huge amount of content they were creating to hype various games for their advertisers, and it all Sucked. With a capital S.

Essentially, what kuguy3000 said - they need some originality..not just dick and fart jokes.

Also, teabagging did not start with Halo. That is all.
