Holy crap. The Nintendo DS Lite sold a staggering 172,000-plus in Japan for the week of April 16th to the 22nd, one of the best weeks the device has had since it shifted over 200,000 units during the first week of February.
On the opposite end of things, Japan has definitely fallen out of love with Sony hardware. PLAYSTATION 3 figures continue to slide, selling at less than half the weekly rate it did earlier this year. Here's the full list of non-Gamecube sales.
- Nintendo DS Lite - 172,359
- Wii - 77,913
- PSP - 29,459
- PlayStation 2 - 11,398
- PS3 - 11,000
- Xbox 360 - 2,307
- Game Boy Advance SP - 860
- Game Boy micro - 449
Someone put out some killer PS3 apps before this thing dips into Xbox 360 territory. Kaz? A little help here?
