You have to be pretty crafty to pull a crime on the likes of gaming legend Lord British. At least crafty enough not to leave pictures of yourselves at the scene of the crime, which exactly what a group of teens did after breaking into a property owned by Richard Garriott last month. After partying on the site, which consists of some cabins and buildings Garriott uses for special events, stealing and/or drinking over $5,000 worth of alcohol, and generally making asses of themselves, the young men and women escaped into the night, never to be seen again.
Until police found their digital camera, still on the scene, filled with pictures of them committing the crime. Bloody brilliant. Said Lord British,
"We we're joking to ourselves about tomorrow morning, when they wake up with a hangover, they're going to wonder where that camera is," he said. "This is one of those Darwin-style kind of awards, where people leave the self-incriminating evidence behind at the scene."
Something my mother always used to tell me - never take pictures of yourself committing a crime, and never...NEVER screw with a man with rat tails.
