Still experimenting with this whole video livestreaming thing. Last week's live play through of the entire second chapter of Heavenly Sword was such a tremendous success, that I've decided to check out Mario Strikers Charged Live for a bit. This isn't a story-driven game, obviously, so I'm not sure if there will be as much interest. Anyway, hit play to watch along. I'll also try to keep an eye on the comments to answer questions.

This video one isn't working for me.
Hopefully we get another I love the hut hut.
No video for me either. Just a "Not Publishing" message.
It's working for me :)
working now?
Its working for me.
I can't say I enjoy that music.
@crecente:
ok, its working now. Just suddenly started playing.
Yeah its working
I was watching the archive of Heavenly Sword while I waited for this to get started, but since I'm watching this now, do you ever hit the frisbee on the target thing? :P
Sadly this title comes up short. Each game quickly turns into a tackle fest.
And once again Yoshi is cheap.
@DigitalHero:
I hope you know the reason its working for you is because it doesn't want to work for me. What a spiteful video.
It's amazing that a soccer ball can stand up to that kind of abuse.
Hmm, would you look at that it works now, I wonder what poor soul it refuses to work for this time. Spiteful video...
music sounds really out of tune...i assume that's just a bad camera mic though
Now,i dont play much soccer....but since when does it rain hell fire and possibly brimstone during a match? If it happens a lot,im totally going to the next world cup.
aww, no auto refresh comments? The video stops every time I manual refresh. :(
@TechnoPirate: It's more amazing that their feet can stand up to a ball that is more a hunk of pig iron that glows, than any sort of sport equipment.
I wish they had more characters in this game. And more goalie choices with their own strengths and weaknesses. I mean.. why not?
is it just me..or does it occasionally slow down for anyone else?0_o
haha, crecente you rule! =P
just playing dudee :D
Gah! The livestream plays for 3 seconds and then cuts out for 5 minutes at which point you have to refresh. This can't be good for bandwidth.
The graphics aren't anything similar to Mario Party 8, are they?
Come on crecente!Kick his ass!
Hey Crecente, I guess the main question would be, are you having fun?
man I can't wait to get this game. The action looks intense!!!
Oh yeah, questions.
Are the controls fairly intuitive?
Sorry about all the comments...
maybe a stupid question, but is this match online?
Is this online play or no? Sorry, just got here...
arent wii codes different from game friend codes though?
Damn, that was quick matchmaking. How is the game to play Crecente?
Hah, My Wii recently bricked so I cant buy any games, but I would really like to get this one.
It seemed like you had 5 points, up from 2 there. I think it counts goals as your ranked score.
Drop out of the match and no punishment? Nintendo is serious about online all right. *rolls eyes*
So people can quit on you and it doesn't give you credit for a win? Great, now I know if I get this game and play online that's going to happen to me every single game I play. Good job Nintendo.
Nice job Petey! And that guy was a pussy
Internet ftw. So strange yet unsurprising that I am watching Crecente play videogames live at his house on my computer screen.
You got that wrong Crecente, my friends in Europe say that D/Cers who cut off lose 5 points, losers get 1 point per goal they made and winners get a whole bunch of points. Also, WIRTE THAT DCING SOB NAME DOWN! >=o
Yes, my pointer jumps around as well every once in a while. usually when I'm too close to the sensor bar though.
Hey Crecente if your Wii controller hand shakes on the screen uncontrollably, try flipping the sensor bar upside down.
Worked for me...
It's an awesome game. Nothing like real football, of course, but it's an absolute blast. The only quibble I have is that some of the pitches (the desert one in particular) are just too distracting. The basic gameplay mechanic is fine without the extra gimmicks, although some are quite fun (the windy pitch, for instance).
I think they're penalized but you aren't rewarded...I might need to double check that though.
Wow, I hope I never run into "Rachel!"!
For some reason, I'm afraid of Birdo spammers now
Getting your ass kicked by a girl....
@Mr.X: Why do you have to turn it into a flame on Nintendo? D/C'ers do get penalized. Whatever, the game looks like a blast, and every game/console has people that disconnect.
If it's anything like the GC release if you keep passing until you get the ball to someone who's open and kick right when they get the ball, the shot gets a speed boost of sorts. Try that.
Holy crap, that goal was awesome.
Hmm, looks very interesting, I may look into buying this now.
Crecente you should totally do a kotaku feature where the first few people who post their friend codes get to play against you on the liveblog
You think those cutscenes are annoying, try playing Pokemon Battle Rev. These are really short, though I could see having seen them as many times as you have wearing them thin...
how well does it incorporate the wii remote?
I think if you shake the Wiimote/Nunchuck at the same time, you do what that player's doing before they power up a shot.
SHOOT MAN SHOOT!
RACHAEL!
AGAIN!
"Play hard, play fair, and don't disconnect. Completing matches in Strikers, beit a win or loss, will gain you ranking points. It is always better to finish a game you are always rewarded points for the amount of goals you score, and the outcome of the match. Disconnecter's are punished by losing ranking points and earning losses on their record."
Nice to known D/cers are punished.
He is probably playing someone in the UK since it is not out here, no? No fair they have months of practice. Don't worry Crecente, you'll get better.
Theres no voice chat right? Kinda sad, as its the kind of game where you can have fun yelling at each other in good nature as you play.
Do you think MSC could be used in tournaments like other games such as Halo 2 or SSBM?
