Probably the awesomest part of the BioShock limited edition pack coming in August is the Big Daddy figure. Just the mention of its mere presence was enough to please most. Pleased me. Anyways, here's what it actually looks like in the flesh. These are in-progress shots, so they're not final (especially the paintjob), but you get the idea. I like. Especially how it looks like it's made out of chocolate. Delicious, underwater chocolate.

Looks awesome, but I probably wont feel the need to buy it. it comes with the Bioshock limited edition right?
Sorry for double post, but nevermind the "limited edition" question. ;(
Call me stupid, but how great would a movie based on Bioshock be?
Keeeeewl!
@JCtheMC:
I would so vouch for that. The overall design concept of Bioshock is rich on imagination. The appeal would be great, Im quite sure this will be an absolute hit.
Will there be a limited edition without the figure? I've no use for it and I imagine it alone will really push the price of the set up.
@JCtheMC:
Only if Uwe Boll doesn't get to touch it
@William Sun:
Ofcourse not... let's say the people who made Pan's Labyrinth make it.
I'm looking forward to this as much as I've looked forward to any game in the history of my existence.
The atmosphere and plot is original and engaging while oozing pure class. In fact, I'm oozing because of it.
I'll definately be grabbing myself the LE copy for my Big Daddy figurine.
*punches fist into air, as if victorious.
@jamie_skella: *song at the end of The Breakfast Club plays*
If thats the main character, i'm so getting this game. :D
..not before a grim fandango movie :)
You know, one positive side effect of the death (or at least, mid-life crisis) of E3 is that cool swag is getting put into limited editions. The Halo 3 helmet, Prey statues, this statue...I think there are a couple more too.
I love SWAG. Count me in on the Limited Edition.
Wow, how big is that thing? I'm glad I preordered the LE. :)
Allow me to answer my own question: The figure is six inches tall. That's pretty impressive since most LE figures are the little pewter pieces of shit.
6 inches,@redgopher:
You call 6 inches impressive? Keep telling yourself that and maybe one day your girlfriend will believe it too.
(PS. this is a joke, do not implode with a fit of forum rage)
it's a good size and the game is going to rock but I'm very glad thats not the final figure as it looks a bit shit compared to this http://images.eurogamer.net/assets/articles/a/6/4/5/5/6/Me...
but I'm sure it'll get modified
@Chowchilla Charlie:
Psychonauts too!
Hmm not to derail the topic, but shouldnt Mcwhetor post the news about HAZE being a PS# exclusive. I feel its somewhat related now, as in Bioshock(x360) contra HAZE(PS3).
Oh, Big Daddy, you've drilled your way into my heart. Literally.
*watches the trailer again*
That....limited....edition....is....MINE!
Pure brilliance!
The white and green tiles at the feet did it for me.
@JCtheMC:
A Bioshock movie by Guillermo Del Toro brilliant!
It does look like little pieces of chocolate mashed together.
@Rukusa:
Expect them to post it within the day. Maybe they're digging to see if it is really confirmed.
@JCtheMC: as long as the movie expanded on the idea of a single character wandering some halls shooting/stabbing/telekinesing things. :P At least to have more than one main character would be nice.
@Kuraudo:
The Limited Edition will be $10 more than the regular edition -- $59.99 for PC and $69.99 for 360.
Wow, that looks pretty good. It's nicely detailed. Doesn't look like it has many points of motion, though, but I really don't care much. Especially since a lot of video game promotional figures are crappily detailed, this is pretty good.
Was I the only person who thinks that Pyramid Head better watch out?
@Furious_Liver:
Alas, you don't. I think the trailer shows him as a roving boss which protects little girl like characters called Little Sisters.
AHHHH it looks like it needs a HUG!
@2KElizabeth:
haha 2k liz even lurks on kotaku. It's because of her and her great fan service that we got the poll for the LE and the cover contest.
Believe in me who believes in you!
Err, wait thats not the Gurren Lagann...
@lotkrota:
i LOVE kotaku and i adore their BioShock love -- so i figured i'd enter the fray.
thank you for your support and also your opinions. it's vocal fans so early in the game that give me the support i need to get stuff done for you. the best thing about the BioShock community is their voice. it's been a great guiding hand that has made my job a lot more awesome.
Why does the work in progress look so damn yummy? I would totally buy a solid milk chocolate Big Daddy. 10'' tall figure made of sweet, chocolatey goodness. God I'm hungry.
