To promote PSP title DJ Max Portable a live event was held in Korea. All the music was featured in either the first DJ Max Portable or the second game. Plus, There were a DJ mix session, a cosplay event and cameras. Lots of cameras. Sounds like a night out on the town to me.
DJ Max Portable Concert [Ruliweb, Thanks Torokun!]

Game was great. Definitely deserves a concert.
O shit, that looks awesome. D:
That girl in that picture isn't as surgically enhanced as the one on the cover of DJMAX. Disappointing. =(
Konami could have had this all, if they only had the brains / balls to have released the beatmania series on the PSP.
But they didnt.
Anyways hats off to Pentavision for bringing it out first and making it even better in 2.
Konami do actually hold concerts in Japan for the artists who perform on Beatmania, DDR etc.
I've never been to one, but I've seen footage. They look awesome.
They need to do this sort of thing in the US and Europe.
@SailorDDR: I was referring to more the fact that they didnt release the Bemani series on the PSP, rather than holding the concerts. :)
Lucky Koroea... wait north or south? >>;
Korea* D:
@Marona:
Both North & South, although this one was in South. In North Korea, it's a guy with a tamborine, and you watch it, and you like it, or else.
Haha, looking at the pictures I was so puzzled why everyone was holding up their PSP's like that. But suddently it hit me like a ton of bricks.. Jupp, living in europe makes you forget stuff like PSP cameras even exist..
I'm downloading the videos right now, cant wait to see them in about.. 4-5 hours :P
@Witzbold:
Yeah, why didn't Konami put out any Beatmania on the PSP? They have beatmania for the GBC for crying out loud.
Great live show, though it seems a lot like the start of more concerts to come. Heck, even the stage size eerily reminds me of an early Guitar Hero stage.
Most of the songs come from Portable 2... if there's any Korean/Japanese DJ Max (online) players here, the last video is where the familiar tunes come in. No instrumentals, unfortunately...
The day they play Miles and Oblivion with live PA in a giant arena is the day DJ Max is household name. :D
I really want to like this game, but I downloaded the demo for number 2 and can't last more than 10 seconds. Maybe I'm missing something.
Heh, it's the girl from DJ Max Portable cover.

@adamcole: Please do us all a favor and never mention any bemani on GBC games again... THAT is why they haven't released any for PSP... They look at the absolute crap that was the series on GBC, don't realize it was due to the system's limitations that are gone with PSP, think instead it is due to music games being unable to sell on portables... In other words, the same sort of logical flaws that seem to plague game makers and game players alike. Look at vague connections and think they account for problems... Burn the witch!!
I'm still in a weird mood... sorry...
Wish I was there. :P
@instantpop
just need lots and lots of practice!! 5 button is pretty hard for the beginner though. i recommend 4b if you can try it somehow.
@c-fan
i think they're really just camera phones. don't forget korea has the best communication network there is and some of the best phones that even japanese ppl want.
@MumboJumbo:
