    Senator Whines About ESRB Ratings

California Senator Leland Yee is a real stick in the mud. It seems he's taken issue with game-raters ESRB for the "Mature" rating they gave GTA: San Andreas. This freakout was prompted after news of the unlockable sex game came to light.

This particular game has been known to include extremely heinous acts of violence, and now it has been uncovered that the game also includes explicit sexual scenes that are inappropriate for our children. I have urged the ESRB on numerous occasions to rate this game AO based on its blatantly graphic nature.

Sure, but if we went over to your house how many dead hookers would we find? It's not clear yet whether ESRB could have known that the naughty feature existed, because it can only be unlocked on PC and hard drive-based versions of the game. But because standing up for family-safe media is currently trendy for government figures, Yee is pushing hard for a bill that will give the state of California more power over offensive games. I wonder what their governor thinks about this.
