As I'm sure you remember, in January 28 year-old Jennifer Strange died while trying to win a Nintendo Wii. It was tragic, it was stupid, and everyone walked away feeling a little bit worse about the world we live in.
Anyways, a lot of people were thinking criminal charges should be laid against the DJs responsible for the contest, especially after it was revealed that they had been warned, on-air, of the dangers of the contest. Not going to happen. The District Attorney's office handling the case has said:
There were no observable indications or symptoms that Jennifer Strange was experiencing a serious medical emergency which would have required station employees to seek or administer medical aid to her.
So the prosecution aren't going to pursue criminal charges against the DJs. They're still filing a wrongful death suit against the station, however.
