It's official. On Friday, we reported that the Governator was planning to sign a bill that blocked the sale of violent video games to minors. He did. The Hollywood star stated that he was a parent himself and stressed the important of monitoring what kids watch and play.
Arnuld's press release read:
"Today I signed legislation to ensure parent involvement in determining which video games are appropriate for their children. The bill I signed will require that violent video games be clearly labeled and not be sold to children under 18 years old. Many of these games are made for adults and choosing games that are appropriate for kids should be a decision made by their parents."
"I also signed into law legislation that will improve foster care services, guard kids from the dangers of steroid use, protect children and everyone from accidental fires by requiring cigarette manufacturers to change the way they make their products, improve the adoption process in California and save babies from neglect and abuse. It is very important to continue putting our children first and doing everything we can to protect their well-being."
It's naive to think that people don't change, but let's review the facts. Here's a man who's made a career out of playing violent killers. There's more. Here's a man who was accused of sexually harassing women on multiple occasions and admitted to engaging in orgies at Gold's Gym during the 1970's. Here's a man that confessed to using illegal drugs and steroids. Let's not forget that here's a man who invited a Nazi war criminal to his wedding. (Arnie's own father was a member of the Nazi Party.) Finally, here's a man that publicly said, "People need somebody to watch over them... Ninety-five percent of the people in the world need to be told what to do and how to behave."
Guess you fall into that category too, Mr. Governor.
