Print publication EGM has a big multi-page interview with Microsoft's Peter Moore. The Xbox 360 has been out a little over a year, and Moore brings us up to speed. What we learned:

• 1). They're already working on next Xbox 360 (Eds Note: And so are Nintendo and Sony on their own consoles, too probably!) Says Moore: "These things take years to develop; you have to work with partners to be able to build the necessary infrastructure to make sure the next-generation console is truly a next-generation console. We're going to be ready for the next generation if and when it arrives."
• 2). Not sure if a quieter 360 is possible "I really don't see that as being a major issue. Would we like to have a quieter machine? I guess so. Is it feasibly possible? You're probably asking the wrong guy to start talking about technology for cooling fans."
• 3). Microsoft, not Moore personally, will fix your voice chat problems "Somebody will come to your house, yes. I want you to print this. Somebody will come to your house, diagnose the problem, and fix it...once we replicate it."
• 4). Peter Moore was a gym teacher "[Gears of War] transports you to what we used to talk about in my old PE-teacher days: the right side of the brain, where you move over into a different world."
• 5). Developer Rare is still very, very important "Rare is still very, very important."
• 6). Peter Moore is Wii-less (but has loads of Microsoft stuff) "I was hoping my friend Reggie [Fils-Aime, Nintendo's president and COO] would send me one, but there's plenty around here that I get to play with. My house is an Xbox 360 house. And a Games for Windows house, I might add."
• 7). Peter Moore, Nintendo fanboy "You know, I've always been a huge fan of Nintendo intellectual property from the early days of owning a Super NES, and when you think of franchises that have defined our industry, there's probably none bigger for me than Mario."
