IGN has new details on the upcoming, how-bad-could-it-possibly-be film adaptation of Konami's whip crackin' franchise Castlevania.
So... how bad could it be? Well, when one starts off with the description "action/horror project in the vein of Underworld and Blade" you simply must expect the worst.
Then you factor in Paul W. S. Anderson, director of fine films such as Event Horizon (took a date to this one) and Alien vs. Predator, plus previous game-to-cinematic poison like Mortal Kombat and Resident Evil, and you start to lose all hope.
Still, the Castlevania flick has a decent sized budget of $50 million, plus Rogue Pictures desire to "franchise" the film and you at least have hope that they're taking it seriously. I can say, without a touch of sarcasm, that I seriously look forward, for better or worse, to the first pics from this film.
