King of Kong Director Shooting Holiday Comedy (Oh Well)
When King of Kong director Seth Gordon isn't talking about how badass a Paper Mario movie would be, he's off...doing other things. We're not exactly sure how we missed this, but Seth Gordon is taking a turn for the holiday comedies in his upcoming film Four Christmases, starring the AAA cast of Vince Vaughn, Reese Witherspoon and Robert Duvall. The film is said to be in production now for a holiday 2008 release.
But don't be sad. In Hollywood this sort of thing isn't called "selling out" but "having a career." Feel good knowing that you can sit in the theater bragging to friends, "I remember when this guy was making documentaries and being written about on barely-literate sites like Kotaku!"

Super Paper Mario, The Movie Idea
The highly talented King of Kong director Seth Gordon wants to make the Super Paper Mario movie. I mean, no one's asking him to make it, but he wants to make it. The guy is totally ready. Anytime.
I'd love, really love, to adapt Super Paper Mario into a movie, a movie that would constantly switch from 2D to 3D. In five years, 3D cinema is going to be really big...(KoK) was screened for Nintendo, but I haven't had the chance to speak to anyone over there about it. But I definitely want to have that conversation. Please, please please...make something inspired by the game into a movie. But don't put Mario on the big screen again. Especially in the case of SPM, it's just not meant to be and my heart can't take it. Thoughts?

King of Kong in Theaters Today
We know that not everybody lives in NY, LA, Seattle or Austin, but if you do, we highly encourage attending opening day of the documentary King of Kong. We've talked about the documentary quite a bit already, and personally, I think it's quite important to support movies about video games that aren't directed by Uwe Boll or starring Milla Jovovich.
Reviews I've skimmed thus far have been positive (click the link for an example). And if I were anywhere near anything not near cornfields, I'd see this tonight in a heartbeat.

King of Kong Trash Talk
I knew he wasn't going to take this lying down. And he knows I won't let him get the record and just go away quietly. So I'm going to start firing up the game again... So like I said, the saga continues. I know I can get a higher score than what he posted, and I plan on putting it to a level where he can't break it.Take THAT!! Wiebe even offered Mitchell a chance to go head-to-head on the machines. We wait with bated breath.
King of Kong Speaks
The King of Kong documentary has been making the rounds this year in various film festivals around the US and now there is a controversy over how one of the movie's "characters" was portrayed. In the movie, two men (Billy Mitchell and Steve Weibe) are trying to be crowned the King of Donkey Kong. Mitchell has held the title of the highest score in Donkey Kong up until recently, when Weibe and a documentary crew set out to challenge it. More »
