WGN News Replies to Kotaku Reader

Last week, Chicago's WGN news ran a sensational segment that said video games are drugs. Without presenting any facts, the news piece did nothing more than further negative gaming stereotypes. Kotaku reader Jason sent the broadcast outlet an email, criticizing the unfounded news report. Here is his email:

Congratulations on giving yourself a black eye with the fastest growing segment of entertainment.

Your piece also apparently failed to mention that kids weren't especially
well behaved before video games came along and it's the responsibility of
each parent to watch over their own kids.

As a father of two, I take this quite seriously.

Sincerely,
Jason
Longtime (and disappointed) WGN viewer.

A thoughtful, even-tempered email. And how did WGN respond? Their, erm, answer after the jump.

Thank you for writing.

Take that as WGN doesn't give one rat's ass about what gamers think. At least they're polite, though.
