I have a confession: continuing my family's penchant for naming first-born sons with fruity, implausible names, I intend on naming my progeny "Gabriel Knight Eckhardt". Maybe add an esquire or a roman numeral at the end for good measure.

Part of the reason I shall do this is because Gabriel Knight is a good name. It's marginally inferior to Florian Eckhardt, but I hope my son will be too. But the other reason, of course, is because I'm a huge fan of Jane Jensen's Gabriel Knight series of games. I even really liked the one where you had to make a fake mustache out of a packet of maple syrup and some cat hair.

So this is great news: German publisher dtp has announced that Jensen will be premiering her new game at Leipzig. Hey, I'm going to that! Her new project is called Gray Matter and should drop in late 2007. I'll see what sort of coconuts I have to crack to get in to see that. Florian Eckhardt
