PlayStation Eye Software Team Talks You, Tube

The PlayStation Eye camera that's shipping soon will, just like the EyeToy before it, come bundled with some gimmicky photo-editing tools. The EyeToy's were a hoot the first time I used it. Course I was also drunk off my ass in a room full of people drunk off their asses. The next day, the novelty was gone.

The Eye's editing gear might have a bit more staying power. Developers Zoe Mode (who are also working on the yummy-looking Crush for PSP) have said that the new camera "plugs into a YouTube-esque back end and will include a number of upload and community features", like the already-promised karaoke vids for SingStar. Ed Daly, Zoe Mode's studio head:

There's a whole raft of functionality we can give players with this software when it comes to user-generated content. You can use the camera and microphone to make home movies, or even make stop motion films.

"Home movies"? When I hear those words, I don't think of kids running around a back yard. I think of sweaty grown-ups and beasts with two backs. Those Home aparmtents and their "private film screenings" just got a whole lot saucier.
