2001: Interplay announces they are up for sale. In other words, te D&D and post-nuclear genres are for sale.

2003: Activision releases Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory for PC in the US. It's released for free, as a multiplayer standalone title. I've actually never played it, but the free release gets it major points. As in, it could make my computer explode with the motherboard shrapnel piercing my body and I'm cool.
