Microsoft blog Channel 10 has the exclusive first listen to a track from the upcoming Halo album. Yes, there will be a "tribute" album for the Bungie developed first-person shooter coming in early fall. Titled Halo 3volution: A Tribute to the Halo Trilogy, the rockin' ode to Master Chief's exploits comes courtesy of 3volution Studios.

3volution has been commissioned for work previously on games like Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, Battlefield 2, and Jaws Unleashed.

Channel 10 has the first sample track up now in MP3 and WMA formats and it sounds like a real face melter. Expect to hear much more of this coming through your Xbox 360 headset as background noise around Halo 3's release. Michael McWhertor
