Jason over at Flicker Gaming has either just come up with an interesting and salient point about Guitar Hero or he just sucks so much at it he just got Guitar Hero's pelvis in his mouth.
He's posted up some brief thoughts on how he plays Guitar Hero... by color. But his friend is color blind and is actually much better at it, because he plays by fret position.
I've learned to avoid star power like the plague. Basically every time I get revved up to double my points, I lose my combo because all the dots suddenly become the same color.Not so Ben. The man can power through the star-power-tinted notes as though there were neatly color-coded as usual. He puts me to shame.
I'm a bit mystified by this: I play by position and I'm certainly not color blind. I could be a freakish aberration — my mother, belting down Kappy's scotch by the milk jug, certainly told me so many times whilst I was tied to the radiator as a boy — but I suspect most people play by position. This is as good a time as any to have a discussion in the comments about how you, Melvin Kotaku, play Guitar Hero
