Joystiq is reporting that Red Octane is considering three new sequels to the uber-popular Guitar Hero franchise and they have the logos to prove it.
Their source tells them that Guitar Hero: World Tour, Guitar Hero: Encore and Guitar Hero Axe Grinder are all under consideration. Hit Joy for a list of some of the other names under consideration. I just hope that Red Octane is also thinking about expanding the game to include more than just new songs with every iteration. Come on Bass.

Um actually I think the Guitar Hero 2 logo is incorrect. I believe the "Guitar Hero" part is blocking out a "W", it should read "Guitar Hero Wii"
or so i wish...
They already said that they're adding a bass part for multiplayer in Guitar Hero II Crecente.
Between Crecente's write-up and the article in question, I feel like I'm back in 2005 or E3 of this year at the latest.
as I've said before, Red Octane/Activision needs to rock the Band Hero Wii - Two (wireless) guitars + a 3rd player using Wiimotes as drumsticks.
It'll make the bass add-on look like nothing.
Hope they're considering Guitar Hero: 360, too.
I've already told myself I'm buying whatever system GH spawns on, except maybe PS3. I really am going to be strapped for cash after Wii and... books this semester =(
Does anyone else remember the "press release" from pre-E3 that said they'd have FIVE new skews for GH out this year?
Including GHII, if it does in fact drop this year, that still leaves four more. Where the fuck are they?
Oh wait, maybe they didn't really mean that. At this point, I'll believe my GH sequels when they're in my rock god hands.

@TheSL: they actually said they'd be adding a second guitar track for each song and it would either be rhythm or bass, depending on the song.
@Bowler: they actually said that Guitar Hero 2 would release this fall and the 4 other genre-themed releases would be in the next year and a half. that was several months ago, though, so we're looking at closer to a year.
That is the most pointlessly long article I've ever attempted to read...
