Reveries Magazine, an online journal dedicated to marketing slugs, or as they call them there, "thought-leaders", has an interview with Nintendo Marketing Chief Reggie Fils-Aime (pictured here leading thoughts), whose E3 2004 presentation left yet another deluge of photoshops, sound-bite techno tracks, and sarcastic worship all over the internet. Maybe even more than was given to Howard Dean.
I'm not sure if the interviewer actually believes that Reggie's unintentionally hilarious opening line at the speech, "My name is Reggie. I'm about kickin' ass. I'm about takin' names. And we're about making games," actually inspired anyone instead of making them laugh at what the stupid marketing guy just said. It's possible. Marketing has its share of not so swift individuals, Reggie's presentation being Exhibit A. More likely though, they are spinning the embarassing truth into something palatable. Anyway, it's a good read if you were a "fan" of Reggie's speech and find self-delusion amusing. And as a bonus, whoever had the clip of the speech that the article hotlinks to has replaced it with my personal favorite South Park moment, the song "Kyle's Mom's A Bitch".
