Electronic Arts is getting into the music business. The world s largest maker of games plans to purchase Cherry Lane Music outright. The move is a bit surprising, but not completely unforeseen. In 2002, EA hired a former Capitol Records senior VP as their worldwide head of music. EA games have long played up their soundtracks. Most recently, The Urbz had original Black Eyed Peas music on it. Cherry Lane Music s artists include the Black Eyed Peas and Elvis Presley. I m thinking EA is just looking for another set of employees to exploit.
