Gizmondo s at it again, playing around with their U.S. launch days before it s suppose to hit the street. Tiger Telematics announced that they will no longer be selling the ad-free version of their handheld. Instead they will force U.S. buyers of the device to put up with ads between their gameplay. The stripped down ad-laden device will run for $229 or you can pony up $399 for the version that comes with Gizmondo Navigator 2006, a satellite nav program that uses the devices built-in GPS for street navigation.
Tiger also announced that their launch line-up will be SSX 3, FIFA Soccer 2005, Richard Burns Rally, Sticky Balls, Trailblazer, Classic Compendium 1, Classic Compendium 2, Toy Golf, Point of Destruction, Gizmondo Motocross 2005, Interstellar Flames 2, Pocket Ping Pong 2005, Hockey Rage 2005, and the Fathammer Classics pack.
I ve had a Gizmondo for months now, unfortunately it didn t come with that many games. The one I thought could really shake things up was Colors, but it doesn t look like it made the launch list. That s too bad. The third person shooter was supposed to use the device s built-in camera and GPS to let you defend real-world territory and tag your turf with real-world images.
