Musical Success in Video Games

Everyone knows that the music industry is dead, but can it really be this dead? Reuters is reporting that the video games industry is the new source for finding and propelling new and upcoming bands into notoriety (and sometimes record deals). Marketing geniuses see this is as an opportunity to merge music with lifestyle and sell more product. According to Celia Hirschman, founder of Downtown Marketing:

Video games are a perfect way for consumers to discover new music and for bands, especially those of the post-modern punk, hip hop, funk and heavy metal variety, to reach their typically rabid fan base.

I think the term "rabid" in this quote is key as that is how I usually feel while listening to the music played on Motorstorm. After an hour or so, I usually do get a little foamy at the mouth and want to bite some one.
