Sega quietly ships Amazing Island for the GameCube today, at a low price of $39.99. It's as if they're not sure that a game with a googly-eyed flying cowchicken would have a big enough draw at $49.
The appeal of this game supposedly lies within the fact that you can create your own horrible looking contrivance using lots of options, including the ability to draw the outlines of the parts you want to add, and the game turns them into 3D parts, which you can then paint and decorate. Once you've finished creating an ugly enough thing, you can enter it into the 28 mini-game competitions on Amazing Island. A Track and Field of the Damned and Hallucinating, if you will. You can also import your creature into a GBA and play both single player games and games for up to 4 players.
If you couldn't guess, this game was made in Japan (by Ancient, a studio not very known here in the states).
