The company isn't even a day old and they're already announcing five titles that they are set to publish. At least one of them is sure to be a huge hit, judging from the founder's past record.
Here's the run down:
Fury: Developed by Auran, Fury is a massively multiplayer "player vs. player" game for PC scheduled to be released for the 2007 holiday season.
Insecticide: Developed by Crackpot Entertainment, Insecticide is a stunning film noir action/adventure game set in a decaying world run by bugs. It will be available for the 2007 holiday season on handheld TBA and PC.
Mushroom Men: Developed by Red Fly Studios, Mushroom Men is an incredibly detailed stylized world where mushrooms have taken on human-like feature and are now embroiled in a civil war. This is slated for a spring 2008 release on a next-gen console and handheld, both TBA.
Hail to the Chimp: Developed by Wideload Games, Hail to the Chimp is an impossible-to-classify party game based on politics in the animal kingdom. The game is scheduled for release in spring 2008 for next-gen consoles TBA.
Hero: Developed by Firefly Studios, Hero is a brutal but comical romp through the "real" world of medieval dungeons. It will be coming to a next-gen console TBA and PC in holiday 2008.

WHo? What?
Ok read on to next post i see now.
It looks like the "old" is becoming new. The descriptions on these games look like something you'd see on the NES.
But when someone says "impossible to classify" I cannot help but be apprehensive. Spore and Warioware have been classified, what makes the chimp game so special?
Hero, and Fury have made my list, with the incesticide taking a close watching.
Can't wait for more information on these games.
??????????
?
I would like to see Kotaku set up odds for the likelihood of these games actually getting published.
Why do video game companies even bother printing two-sentence long information tidbits about their games? I am pretty sure every single game every created would sound like a fucking snooze-fest if reduced to two senteces.
Gears of War
Developed by Epic Games, Gears of War is a gritty pseudo-third-person shooter where you shoot people that look like zombies but are called Locusts. Due in Q4 2006.
World of Warcraft
An incredibly detailed and stylized massively multiplayer online role playing game, which is Geek-ese for "Your girlfriend will leave you for the yard-man." Expect her post-it note on the refridgerator in time for Valentine's Day 2007.
Metal Gear Solid
A stunning film noir action/adventure game where you take on an army of clones of your dead father who are led by your half-cloned, half-dead half-brother who poses as your half-Gary Busey, half-Dolph Lundgren mentor. Called ""best PlayStation game ever" by developers.
Super Mario 64
Developed by Nintendo, a comical yet brutal romp through the Mushroom Kingdom, where you can step on anthropomorphic mushrooms, oversized turtles, and collect stars.
Chrono Trigger
A vaguely humorous, impossible-to-classify role playing game where you travel through time and fight a massive porcupine who was born in the year 65,000,000 BC who eats your planet.
lol@Mushroom Men: There's a Lithuanian children's book titled War of Mushrooms (by J.Marcinkevicius, if you're wondering), and the above description sounds pretty much like it. Never thought THAT would make a game.
Ya, because Wideload is an unknown.
I know some game producers, and it amazes me how (the good ones) can see potential in a game from a 2 minute pitch.
I remember one of them describing Company of Heroes to me a couple years ago, and I thought "WW2 RTS? Coming out in 2006?... You've got to be kidding me. Nobody's going to play that."
IMHO, The quality of the game is 99% developer and publisher talent. It almost doesn't matter what it's "about". That's why Nintendo has fantastic first party games, even though the premises are pretty lame (mascot racing, mascot sports, mascot party games...)
And yes, some publishers have very good talent that affect the outcome of the game.
Ya, I was just talking to some industry guys about that. I mean Max Payne and Serious Sam sounded like ass on paper, but I loved both of them. It's all in the delivery. Sorta like writing a book. I mean, who would want to read a book about a kid growing up in a catholic school in Ireland worried about going to hell: AKA Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man.
wasnt hail to the chimp a movie on the simpsons?
Gamecock.
bigman88zz:
Argh, you beat me to it. Hopefully these aren't some super-budget titles.
Also, is there a such thing as "real medieval dungeon combat"?
For that matter, is there a such thing as "real"?
BUM BUM BUUUUUUMMM...
Well count me interested in Hail to the Chimp, Hero, and Mushroom Men.
Allthough i feel that "Hero" will have to change their name due to NBC's "Heroes".
LMAO, WTF man Gamecock???? Seriously dude who's been tolling on those mushrooms? This is hysterical, I'm laughing so much I'm crying XD Ahh, screenshot time...
Oh god, who said gamepublishing wasn't fun?
well, it's a change from Halo 3's new weapon's bullet rate or whatever
they look interesting, so far
(Fury.. i can't help thinking about http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fury3 ;) )
@bigman88zz:
Hail to the Chimp has been around as a phrase ever since Bush was sworn in.
