Not sure why, but I received emails from two guys this long weekend about cool gaming tattoos that are either injected into their skin or the skin of a friend.
Thom! Watson! writes to say he just received this Zelda-inspired tattoo at Primal Urge Tattoos in Arkansas. He adds that he's not just a gamer, he's also a youth minister.
And then you have Tavit who just returned form commencement weekend at his old college where he ran into a friend, 5 Limbs, with this truly artful Okami tat.
That is all. Back to drinking and Warhawk.

A youth minister?
With those ears? o_o;
Ugh, yeah, that's just what I want to see when I'm looking up the latest in video game news:
Some dude's greasy spotty back and some other dude's pasty, bony midsection and girly pink shorts.
What the hell, is this 4chan? Did I miss the /b/ sign on the way in?
I think I have yet to see a really good gaming tattoo
i liked the okami one...
but he should´ve got a better pic
I threw up in my mouth a little at the first one. And the bottom one is hahaha bad
rofl @ pink boxers with green turtles. But yeah both of these tats are pretty mediocre. Id say the triforce one looks the best to me, but the colors on the symbols seem a bit wierd.
The Zelda one looks unfinished (the Triforce looks like 3 Doritos) but the Okami one is awesome.
Yeah...glowing the triforce pieces was a bad idea...much like getting these tatts in the first place. I'll never understand the demand for a game related tatt. To each their own I guess.
However, too bad for pinky there...that Okami image isn't very good IMO. Triforce looks pretty cool though.
The Okami one doesn't really flow all that well as a tattoo in that area, but it's nicely done. Nothing to be ashamed about. The Zelda one? Hmm, positive spin here. It'll help him in avoiding the "temptations of the flesh"? Yeah, that's it.
Good god.. I'd imagine that Okami one was very painful to get. I never would be able to get a tattoo on my side like that. >_<
The Zelda one was good until they made it look like someone vomited all over the triforce pieces. They should've used that same brushed metal effect, except with yellow.
Okami one would've been neat but, something doesn't seem right about the dog itself...
i love growlithe.
so does the person in the 2nd pic.
i am happy :)
i hope those are temporary.
Um, dude thats the wolf from Okami not a Growlithe.
As somebody with a few tattoos (none gaming) I can honestly say that the Okami one is a shame. Okami is beautiful looking and could work as a tattoo. But not when the lines are bad. You can't tell so much on the tree...because the tree isn't supposed to be perfect, but on Amaterasu the lines are just god awful and the flames...I won't even say anything. I wish that guy had a better tattoo artist.
I wonder if they'll still want those when they're eighty.
They are gamers, not photomodels so don't criticize them for looking ugly. The guys were brave enough to send in the photos so give them some credit.
i don't think i have ever seen an image i like enough to have it put on me.
I like zelda as mutch as the next guy but not that mutch, Shit at least the okami guys looks professional the triforce looks like it was done in prison. Oh well maybe potential deliquents will turn to christ after they see this youth pastors "rad" tattoo..(snicker)
check ouy "links" back hair, it looks like they had to shave quite a chunk. either that or it just grows all blocky like that, Youth pastors are creeps.
@ E2K: i will never give them credit. never! maybe if they were women, but for these guys, never!
I usually don't like tatoos and these are no exception :)
I'm being totally serious when I say I'm sick of these tattoos. I don't need to see what some drunken idiot thought was a "great idea" over the weekend. I don't see you posting video game art all the time. Where's that? You know tons of people make great drawings and paintings of video game stuff and we don't see that every time one shows up. Tattoos are the lowest form of bastardized art.
Tattoos were never cool, they are just something stupid you regret when you're older and/or fatter. So says everyone I know with a tattoo.
@Protofunk: Lol yeah.
I just hope we get another newspost soon, i'm tired of spamming refresh and seeing the same greasy back. And i have nothing better to do :(
I'd say that, if you absolutely have to get a games-related tat, get something that either has already aged well (maybe a pixelated NES sprite of a 1-up mushroom) or something that looks good and makes some sense on its own.
Also, tatts will blur. Don't make it too small. Don't be the girl who tattoos a cute little ladybug only to have it turned into an ugly black-red splotch within a few years.
I agree, can we have something different at the top of the page. MY EYES ARE BLEEDING x_X
On a related note, the Okami tattoo is pretty cool.....but the rest of the pic is rather....how should I put it....spooky.
Of course...one could always argue about the artistic value of said picture.....in which case I'd run like hell from the argument.
Can we please get this disgusting picture off the front page and put it behind the jump? I'm trying to eat.
Yeah, that top pic certainly is puke-a-licious...
Okami is badly drawn, and tri-force is poorly inked.
Why do people waste money on going to a tattoo artist who can't draw?
Because they're cheap?
Seems to me it would be cheaper to let a two year old loose with some pens every morning, to achieve similarly unprofessional looking results.
OMG howabout a warning... you always tease full stories after the jump, these tats would be appropriate ONLY after the jump.
btw, neither one is good
that 3 triangle design from zelda, is actually quite similar to a very ancient pagan symbol for the god Odin which had 3 interlacing triangles. sucks to be into a minister with a pagan inspired tattoo. HA HA!!!!
You all whine too fucking much. Set your browser to not load images if you're going to be such babies about a few images.
That youth minister is a mighty scary fella. I think I'd hit him with a bible and some holy oil!
The other guy NEEDS to pull up his pants. We aint gangsta here.
Peace yo.
@Eastwood: Yeah, because wrinkly tattoos are the biggest of their worries when they're eighty.
the okami one would have looked nice on a girl
i am considering a zelda tattoo quite similar. except mine shall be smaller, more subtle and all solid black. and less hairy.
Is this the last post in hours ? Game tattoos look like shit no mater how good they are.
That guy with the okami tattoo has the same body as me O_O
mole and all.
Youth minister and, judging by the fur, part-time Teen Wolf.
@ everyone who hates tattoos:
you guys must live in a shitty part of the world. i know that south american tribes have some pretty cool tattoos. also, where i live, we have 2 of the top 20 tattoo artists in the US, so everyone around here looks pretty cool all ink'd up.
@everyone who hates gaming tattoos:
you guys must never have seen a good tattoo(no, these are not some of them; they are in fact terrible).
@bluep3ace: *beats you with sticks*
@E2K:
"They are gamers, not photomodels so don't criticize them for looking ugly. The guys were brave enough to send in the photos so give them some credit."
Well, their tattoos definetely look ugly. Gaming tattoos are just way too nerdish and white tattoo ink isn`t a rather clever choice either. That wolf/dog animal is going to look very yellowish soon.
Hide this after a jump! If i want to see a hideous person i'll look in the mirror thank you very much!
Tattoos - permanent ways to disfigure yourself.
But, I respect people who have the guts to put Okami and Zelda tattoos and not regret it ten years down the road.
The Okami tattoo picture looks like the guy took the picture on a sidewalk.
@protozoider: And exactly how many people is that out of the grand sum of people who have tattoos.
Adam
I came to say the same thing. I wonder if they had to charge him extra for all the disposable razors it took to shave that winter coat off.
@Lyrai: Amen.
1) No one wants to see your pasty white flesh, nerds.
2) That first guy is really kind of hairy.
why is it that all game tattoos look fucking gross? Also, I bet that Okami tattoo is going to be really meaningful when that dude is 55. "When I was your age, I liked this game called Okami" "What's Okami, Grandpa?"
We need a "tramp stamp" equivalent moniker for these types of tattoos... I've tried to come up with something funny but I got nothing.
Any thoughts?
@code.monkey: gaymer tag??
Someone needs to post a new story ASAP.
It has got to have been at least a couple of hours and every time a come back here I get a face full of hairy moleback man with his retarded as hell looking triforce glowy crap going on.
UHG.
Quick, someone post the pic of the girl with the Zelda "tramp stamp!" I need it to get this horrible image out of my head.
is it me or is the second guy missing a nipple?
I like games a lot, but to have some obscure game in my skin for the next 80+ years doesn't really strike me as a good idea.
That triforce looks more like some sorta skin disease.
@JamesSorensen: Haha, that'll do.
Sweet mother of Artemis, Crecente! Put 'em behind a link already... Ugh. I feel sick.
I like the Okami one, not so sure it really works at a tattoo though, but it probably has more meaning than "the wolf from some game" to it's owner.
I want to get the tattoo of the "Shield" from the Halo difficulty logos. You can see how cool it looks in the campaign area of someone's profile in the Halo 3 Beta. It looks amazing. But I'm thinking of that because of personal reasons, not just because it looks cool.
But my friend got a tattoo of the Lionheart emblem from Final Fantasy VIII on his right bicep area. It's pretty cool. More well done that those...drawings....
But yeah, about the tattoos posted here.....ugh... the first guy has a terrible tattoo, and the second one is alright, albeit a bit unprofessional.
Hahahah, look at second guy's boxers...
~~~~KAWAII~~~~
