    Chibi Pachi Slot Machine

    pachinko.JPG

"Pachi-slots" aren't typical slot machines. Due to vague Japanese gambling laws, players win metal pachinko balls, which they can then sell for cash. The Sega Sammy Group has a big corner on this market, thanks to their beautiful graphics, large color displays and great sound design. When they're not making next-gen games, the company focuses on ways to keep gamblers' asses planted in front of their pachi-slot machines.

The company has released a series of pachi-slot gambling toys, sold at convenience stores. Granted, adults and children alike will be collecting these, but it all seems slightly sinister. At least they're not using Sonic. Yet.

    More after the fold.
