Our cups runneth over with new screens and artwork from Namco-Bandai's Soulcalibur IV, giving us a clear look at the unrestrained breasts of returning fighters Sophitia and Cassandra. In a cruel twist that will interfere with your enjoyment of studying Soulcalibur IV's top-heavier than ever female fighters, new screens of fighting freak Voldo are also interspersed.
He, too, looks to be sporting a more voluminous codpiece. We're really concerned about the unchecked growth of to the unspeakable bits of our favorite fighters, but as long as they gyrate well, we'll keep our mouths shut. Enjoy!

Wow, I guess Ivy wasn't the only one to get an "upgrade". Sophita looks almost ridiculous.
I really hope they look as slutty in game as they do in the concept art.
@Stevedroid: I like those kind of almost ridiculous upgrade ^^ .
@Stevedroid: Ridiculously bouncy!
I sure hope Tekken doesn't get any boob jobs like this.
@Stevedroid: Almost... almost...
@LowerHouseMember: Didn't see the in game shot at the top of the post the first time. Looks nice!
if they 'gyrate' like a tide-machine (similar to Rachel from Ninja Gaiden...) I'm outta here.
On an unrelated note, couldn't that have at least TRIED to hide the creepy dude's Athletic Cup?
Screens make the game look like it's gonna have HDR.
HOLY SHIT SC4 is going to be NAUGHTY.
They don't look as top-heavy in-game as they do in their art.
Hey, anyone know if that new EGM's out with the guest characters?
All it needs now is a video creator and editor.
Then I can have unlimited access to Ivy's divinely shaped buttocks. Mmmm.
Damn this is the only fighting game I want. Whens this coming out?
Might as well call this DOA: Soul Calibur Edition.
Kind of makes me wonder if they are concentrating more on the character designs than the fighting. Soul Calibur has yet to release a title equal to the first, and III was just plain awful. They no longer get the benefit of a blind purchase from me just because it's Soul Calibur, I am going to have to be sold on this game and computer generated T@A is not going to do it.
@kuzuboshii:
I LOVED the Dreamcast version. Have yet to play one since. Has it really been "that" bad compared to that one?
Two words: Hot mama.
Dangit, it was Voldo who stole Sam Fisher's goggles!
Now we know what Sam Fisher does when he's not protecting the world from terrorists in Splinter Cell. Voldo = Sam Fisher? Hmmm?
Tittyboobs!
Actually, hate to say it guys, but Voldo's been shrinking - remember his enormous horned codpiece from SC1? Nothing says 'Got wang' more than large horns coming out of your nether regions!
Wow, Voldo looks more absurd than ever. Kudos, Namco.
are Namco-Bandai trying to compete with Team Ninja on boob physics? if so, then I say BRING IT ON!
These screens are tight, like Voldo's but cheeks!
@Dorphat: "On an unrelated note, couldn't that have at least TRIED to hide the creepy dude's Athletic Cup?"
That's not a cup, that's a weapon. When Voldo scuttles like a crab and pelvic thrusts you into the air you'll know what I mean. Hell, in the Japanese version of Soul Calibur he had a big spike on his crotch in one of his costumes.
Fap
I liked Sophita's old looks myself. This new one is meh, really. hope they balance the game, and get a more robust CAC in there while they're at it.
Yawn. Aren't fighting games supposed to be the best looking of all the console games? This looks like Xbox material.
They say it's based off SC3: Arcade Edition, so it should be ok. Biggest problem they have is balance and bugs. Hopefully they don't try to innovate too much, and concentrate on the balance. If the boobage gets the casuals in, +1 for that.
Oh man, I can't wait to see Tika's physics. Bouncy bouncy.
They're so far gone from Soul Calibur II GCN with Link. I mean even with my tight budget I bought that game. Now I don't even know them anymore.
Yet again another game has been made more enjoyable by the inclusion of weapons and lithe young women wearing not much.
@Blinkstale:
Yeah, I was hoping the game would look better too.
Arent Greek women usually brunette?
@98abaile2: INCLUSION of weapons? Have you ever played Soul Calibur before? Did you mean more or new weapons, by chance?
What a clear view of Cassandra's crotch, I'm embarassed for her.
where's the soul calibur i knew? *single tear*
I loved Soul Calibur III, I think anyone claiming the series "has sucked" since the first one might as well not play any ever again, it's never going to live up to what they have in their mind.
After they managed to screw SC III, I imagine they've learned their lesson so IV should hopefully be better.
As for the ridiculous breast size, I'll stick with the old saying of more than a handful is wasteful.
does anyone know who the concept artist is?
as a fan of Digital Painting this is really good stuff
jubblies aside.
I liked SCIII, especially Tira. SCIV is shaping up to be awesome, at least as far as I'm concerned.
Sigh. This is why gaming is firmly associated with the soft, sweaty-palmed grasp of horny teenagers.
I've said it once, and I'll reiterate it here. If they bimbo-fy Seung Mina, I'll be coming after them with my own naginata.
@Jackablade: Who's been bimobfied? Does having big breasts automatically mean she's a bimbo? She (Seung-Mina) already had some of the most gratuitous panty flashes of any of the characters.
I have this feeling that some character designer made them all this way as a joke, then was sick the day they had their meeting and wasn't able to stop them when they took it seriously.
Still no Hwang? Hello? Namco made the right move by making him standard in AE now make the other move, will you.
The art and all looks nice. Bigger breasts, sure but, bear in mind even since the original Soul Calibur the concept art usually always had larger assets than they ended up in game. It's looks like the same will be done with this, too.
Also, is it me or does it look like Voldo's crotch plate-thing is sort of like it's the head of one of Astaroth's alternate costumes (in SCII, I think)? And shouldn't he be dead already...this guy is freaking old now! It's damn scary seeing an old man move like he does. It's damn scary seeing an old man dress like he does. *shudder* Beats Heihachi's thong any day though. *double shudder*
And to finish up this post: HWANG! HWANG! HWANG!
As long as they're not spring loaded crap like DoA. When they're overly unrealistic it's just disturbing. It'll be okay as long as no character has a rack *and a cod piece. When that happens I think it's shark jumping time.
It seems like Cassandra's ditching the skirt altogether. It really didn't do that much good in the first place.
Now lets see some shots of Taki poking eyes out with her "upgrades", lol.
Sophitia was always my favorite... and she's lookin mighty fine!
I think these are PS3 screenshots. I noticed some anti-aliasing issues.
But I liked skirts.
And hate oversized bewbs.
Oh well. It's not like I take other characters than like Nightmare.
But I liked
uh
Whichever one's got the braid
's braid
And skirt. And the ribbon of
other one
That concept art is pathetic. The screen shots however, look pretty good.
Im pretty sure Sophitia had bigger ones in the second one? Noce graphix tho and Voldo should die already, most annoying character by far.
@kuzuboshii: Yes, it also had sexy ladies in previous games. I suggest you get you humour detector fixed.
I've got a lot on my mind about this game, and I'm typing from my Wii... It's gonna be a long night...
First, I've got to say that the art of this game is as beautiful as ever (the concept art alone is incredible)- but I maintain that the artistic design has dipped remarkably.
On this subject, I will get rid of the obvious statement first- It's like the art director just discovered Viagra. If you go back to number 2 even the least modest outfits- Taki's bounce-a-topia and Ivy's dominatrix suit were still pretty modest by modern gaming standards. Ivy's suit was skintopia, but it still had artistic value and even today it's still arguably her signature outfit. Cut to today and what do you find? The ugliest outfit she's ever donned (even considering the George Washington suit), but don't worry- there's tetas! I'm glad they seem to have under represented the breastal growth on Cassandra in game, because her official art is pamela-worthy. Too bad they didn't do the same for her sister, who sports breasts comparable to Ivy with cleavage to match! Not to mention the shortest skirt ever... No, wait, that goes to Cassandra, the pantless wonder! Can you say mother§@|/ing pantsu?
I'm guessing that's Taki in the image above... If so, I'll be leaving now, I've got to cry :(.
Judging from what we've seen so far, the art direction on the men seems to be tons better: Siegfried is holier than ever (his suit BLINDS me), Voldo is the same weirdo and Nightmare is regressing more and more into fscking awesome evil mode.
Why do the men look so much better? It's probably because tit size isn't a focus...
Of course, it doesn't really matter how characters look, it's how they play. Because we've seen little gameplay, whether or not they've fixed the horrendous system of 3 remains to be seen... But I swear...
Even with 3 they had one of the top fighting game franchises, don't let it slip, Namco.
@Giolon: SC3 basically expressed why Nintendo doesn't do voice acting XD.
The character lines in battle were fine, but the cutscenes involving Seung (sorry, Seong) Mina, Cassandra and Xiangua are cringe worthy at best. They were all basically bimbos in that game, and this change really made me yearn for the cheap official art endings of SC2.
Sexy =] Do want.
Hopefully it will be just as good as the first!
