The arrival of Sony Computer Entertainment's God of War franchise on the PSP this coming March will finally give fans of the handheld an opportunity to experience sex mini-games and excessive amounts of gore on the go. To keep hype going through the holidays, SCEA has handed out a new batch of screens of God of War: Chains of Olympus, all of which are in our gallery below. They may not have the polished allure of the original set of screens release many moons ago, but developer Ready At Dawn look to do portable justice to Kratos and whomever he'll be slicing from skull to crotch.

one of the big reasons i'm asking for a psp for Christmas
This game LOOKS amazing, considering it's on a handheld system. I'd hold of on crowning it GOTY or anything as the gameplay mechanics for GoW were fast becoming stale by the second installment.
Still, I'm 23 and I feel old everytime I see how far handheld gaming has come in the looks department in just 15 years. My GameBoy and Lynx are weeping.
can't wait for the game.
That lighting and shadowing is freaking crazy (considering it's a PSP title).
Yeah, I'm still waiting on my dumb demo disc. And my Big Daddy replacement figure. If you could just go ahead and send those in maybe 1 box, that'd be great. I'd like to have them before Chains of Olympus 2 and Bioshock 2 come out.
Cool video on 1UP, showing the 222Mhz vs. 333Mhz built. And how the extra processing power was able to give them better animations, particles, more enemies on screen, and overall lighting/shading.

1up has a cool video that compares the game running at the PSP's old maximum power level (under 9000, one assumes) to it running at the current 333mhz processor cap. It's a really good way to appreciate all the crazy shit they're doing.

@EnigmaNemesis: No amount of expletives could possibly express my feelings right now.

See, totally different than what he said.
I have the demo
its just orgasmic O=
Wait this is a psp title? *Head esplodes*
Ready at Dawn did one hell of a job when developing Daxter. Judging by what I've seen and played so far with Chains of Olympus, it appears they're going for a repeat performance.
The demo is great, feels true to the ones on the PS2. I reserved this a very long time ago (March this year) and still can't wait to get my hands on it.
@zleilndka: You must work for Sony then, cause you're the only person who's received the demo :(
@Moonshadow101:
Great minds think alike!
;)
awesome!
I want to sex whoever did the art for this level!

Its great to finally games like this take advantage of the PSP. I'm not gonna lie, its been a long time coming, but I guess I can finally dust off my PSP assuming I can find it...
That's pretty damn impressive. It looks just as good as the PS2 God of War. Too bad I don't have a PSP.
@MCW07:
If you didn't get your demo disc yet, you're probably never going to get it. It was a limited demo I believe
Depending on the reviews, this may be enough to get me to buy a PSP again.
This is the reason I picked up the PSP. Well that and Lumines and Squad Command.
I know, I know Squad Command gets horrible reviews, but I'm a Warhammer addict and short of the psp physically stabbing me in the neck with an icepick every time the game booted up I knew I would love every minute anyway.
Same will go for this God of War game. Short of an icepick to the throat I know I will love it.
The PSP really needs more games like this and daxter. I wish studios would please stop trying to do FPS and third person shooters on the PSP. Lets get back to the fun stuff that is not hindered by the control configurations.
I'm still pretty impressed with what they pulled off on a handheld. This game could be a system-seller for me. Just like the first GoW was with the PS2. And then again with GoW2 and the PS2. And, since I no longer own a PS3, I'm guessing GoW3 will be the game that gets me to forgo my problems with the controller (the teeny-tiny-jagged shape, not the lack of rumble) and pick up another PS3.
@Sloopydrew:
Couldn't agree more with you
Sex mini games? Now why can't someone bring a collection of *those* out for the Wii?
(Oh yeah, and God of War FTW and all of that.)
I'll wait for a ps2 port.
@EnigmaNemesis: Thanks for the link, it was cool see.
I have to say, I wasn't too impressed with this game before, but with an extra 50% of processing pwer, this game is going to be pretty nice. The new shadows and basic AI on your side will make this a nice addition to my collection. It does make me consider buying it more.
