Japan's about to get a FolksSoul demo. That's Folklore to us Western types. This Friday. It'll be a touch over 1GB, and for the Japanese will also be available at PlayStation TV demo stations.
Anyone interested in this game, you could do worse things than setting up a Japanese PSN account. Unless you're not interested in FolksSoul/Folklore at all. But then, if you're not, you shouldn't be reading this, should you? Sod off, there's nothing for you here.

Seeing this, almost makes me want to have a J PS3.
almost.
@Witzbold: ... why?
You can get this demo on any ps3 in the world, you just need to set up an account and say your from Japan... as was said in the article.
Plus all games are region free anyway... am I missing something?
I'm really looking forward to this game.
Reserving my excitement since it's the same Team as Genji, but have faith that Yoshiki Okamoto's track record (DMC, RE, Onimusha) show's in this.
I've already set up my JP account but damn I wish it was the store was in english. It's a pain to navagate in JP.
nah
Is it easy to set up the JP account?
That is, am I going to have to figure out a city+zip code in Japan, or can I pretty much enter anything?
Is the navigation of the store exactly the same as the US version?
I'm very interested in checking this out. The video really resonated with me.
Its not easy but very doable. I just went through it in english again first, wrote down the questions, then went back through it in Japanese. After the numbers disappear on the top you are then in the Survey and can use the lower-left button to exit it.
Anyone know a good FREE english site that teaches you the symbols? Got a hankering to learn a few now that I will be surfing the Japanese store.
I used a forum walkthrough to set up mine. No idea where that is now though.
For the address I just made something up (Same with my UK account). Just did a search on JP companies to get the uniform for the addresses and used an extra e-mail account.
EDIT: After the progress bar disappears on top, not the numbers.

As far as I know, the JP store and the Hong Kong store have the same items, but the HK store is in English. This is where I have my East Asia account and have found a dirth of quality PSN store goods there (DMC 4 trailers and various other interesting vids). When setting up account, select HK, then in language select, pick English. Easy :)
And as far as address goes, just pick a city/district thing...it doesn't seem to matter too specifically (at least it didn't for me). As someone pointed out on another story, you can't buy stuff from the store because you need a credit card from the region, but the freebies are good.
@Astrofox: Well for 1 I live in Japan, unless you havent noticed in my original posts.
2: it would be pointless to buy a US system anyways, that and different voltage.
It's actually 5 MB under 1 GB.
I am almost certain that ANY PS3 accepts 115-230 volts input.
Having problems making a jp account. I'm stuck at the email/password/password recovery stage. I try to go on, get a screen with just text, and then it puts me back at email/password screen again. Tips?
o.o I didn't know it was this far along in progress.
Chrys you need a valid email address that you haven't used before. Get a new gmail/yahoo/hotmail account.
i normally wouldnt be into a game like this.. but after i watched that gameplay video, this game has definetly intruiged me.
i wouldnt be willing to go to all that trouble to play it though.
i just signed up for a japan account, and i am looking forward to trying this game out. thanks for the heads up.
it looks like they have a much more robust psn store in japan than we do in the states. i may have made a mistake, but i think the majority of those ps1 games are for psp only though, which is too bad, because i really wanted silent bomber. i loved that game.
HK account will have it for download as well if it goes accordnligly like previous demos on Japan PSN. (with few hours gap, like 4-5)
@Lachoy:
Thanks for the info!
Just sign up for a hong kong account, easier to deal with and gets same content as the Japanese store.
Sweet, FRIDAY HERE I COME!!!
~~Chu*Chu*~~
if i create a jp account,can i close later?
shame we have to use the japanese accounts to get at it...im hyped after seeing the video on their PSN, but again, the damn thing's dubbed in english, why dont we have this stuff here? They got 2 Devil May Cry 4 trailers too! Sony, this is bullshit. You arent gonna sell me $60 games if you dont even wanna drop videos/demos to do so, fuckaJoust.
@HuleO:
why?
really looking forward to friday, Im really looking forward to trying it out myself.
@Fetcher: I already had a Japanese account in (in addition to my UK and US ones), but now I have a Hong Kong one, too. It does indeed appear to have all the same things but labeled in English.
I wonder, though, if the games are still Japanese, and if this Folklore game will be on it as well.
