Look Japan! Final Fantasy XIII is coming! And it's coming to PS3!

In 2008. At the earliest. Maybe even 2009.

For reference, today is January 2, 2007.

I can see their point - like the Halo 3 coverage we've seen over the past few months, it can seem like a good idea to dangle an old favourite in front of the adoring masses to remind them what's in store if they buy your console.

But this far in advance? It looks....well, it makes them look a little desperate. I know the Final Fantasy franchise is somewhat popular in Japan, but to advertise a game that is anywhere from 18-32 months away is kinda cruel. Luke Plunkett
