Sony Online Entertainment is celebrating the 4th anniversary of the launch of Everquest Online Adventures, the relatively bad PlayStation 2 version of its iconic MMORPG, Everquest. You might remember it from the infamous "It's time to slay the dragon!" commercials that showed people from all walks of life getting together to fight evil on their PS2s. Now four years and one expansion later, someone is still playing the game. I'm betting it's the same multi-cultural group from before, forever chasing that dragon...their white whale.

SOE is offering players over level 15 a special scroll a special scroll that allows for a second reset of path abilities as well as other special items and events to commemorate the milestone achievement of the game they refuse to let die.

I played the game in beta and was not particularly impressed, and I was pretty sure the game died out a couple years ago. Anyone out there still playing this, and if so, why? Michael Fahey
