Citing "customer safety" as the reason for nixing 12:01 AM sales of the PLAYSTATION 3 for this week's launch, UK specialty retailer GAME says they'll instead open stores at 7 AM to meet early adopters' needs. However, to make up for a lack of one nights sleep, GAME will be giving the first 150 gamers in line a tasty English breakfast, including something called "bacon butties." The hell?!
What I really hope GAME (and HMV and Virgin) are ensuring is that people don't set up camp outside the store, armed with DSes, PSPs and wallets stuffed with hundreds of pounds, fit to be mugged.
