Both Germany and Switzerland had copies of CONSOUL forced on innocent citizens. So, how did the PS3 launch turn out in each country? Let's start with Germany. Things are always interesting in Germany.
Reader Sebastian did a quick translation of a German article covering the Berlin midnight launch. Somewhere between 150 and 200 people showed up at the Sony Center (Berlin's population is over 3 million). There was a stage event involved either A). Boy in his underwear or B). Bald man jumping on an Xbox 360 and calling it "junk." Don't you just love it when Germans jump on stuff? What's more, at an electronics chain called Saturn, customers could climb a wall and chuck their own Xbox 360 down, destroying it. Fifty people could get free PS3s by doing so. Don't you just love it when Germans break stuff? I'm sure the clever ones brought their bricked Xbox 360s!

After the jump, reader James sends in a report for the peaceful Swiss PS3 launch.
James writes:
My route to the store took me past a large electronics chain called Interdiscount which was due to open at 9am whereas Manor, the shop I took pics of before and only 500 yards away, opened at 8.30. What surprised me was that 2 people were actually waiting for it to open.
James apologizes for the pic quality as he was diving into a tram, but points out that the store did have a security guard which he says is "very un-Swiss." We agree. That is so un-Swiss.
