• EA: The Complete History

This is terrifyingly comprehensive. Seven pages of the complete history of Electronic Arts, from 1983 through to the days when people actually liked them (Chuck Yeager, oh yeah) and then today, when...less people like them. But they make so much money they just don't care.

Whatever your feelings on the industry monolith, this is a wonderful piece of history. Why wonderful? Because of Trip, of course:

I made a conscious decision to ignore Atari and to focus on the next generation of technology. We had to operate like the Fremen of Dune, recycling our own saliva to live in the desert, to survive.

Oh, Trip Hawkins, I miss you.

Get a cup of coffee, dim the lights, put the kids to bed, cut yourself...whatever it is you do to settle in, do it, this is a great read.
