E3 may have moved, become more complex and shrunk, but that doesn't stop the journalists covering it from drinking until their livers cry out in pain. To that end, the International Game Journalists Association is hosting their third annual Not an E3 Party party.
As usual, the rules are:
No free drinks
No free food
no schwag
No one pretending to be nice to you or showing you games they don't know how to play
Everyone is invited

I will try to attend the non-party party
Sounds legendary.
Sounds fun. But who the hell designed that ugly flyer?
I've been to the King's Head tavern in Santa Monica a bunch of times: it's totally worth going even if you AREN'T a video game reporter. The beer is great, although not fancy (try the draft 1664) and don't leave until you try their bangers and mash, which consistently causes me to SHOVE the fork towards my face in a threatening yet food quickening manner.
Designer of this flier,
Please step away from the Photoshop.
I repeat, step away from the Photoshop.
Poorly played.
The event sounds fairly sweet, though.
The event sounds amazing, its good to see that no one has lost their sense of what E3 once was or rather what it should be.
The Kings Head is the thing I miss most about living in Los Angeles. Great pub, great food, great everything.
I live in the UK, and even I've been to this great pub before. Wish I could be there...
So forgive my ignorance, but when they say everyone is invited, do they mean everyone that's a journalist or everyone-everyone?
I was about to ask the same question... is everyone-everyone invited?
When is E3 actually starting, I've been reading Pre-E3 coverage.
Any excuse to go to the King's Head is alright by me. Too bad I'll be working at that time. Lift up an imperial pint of Stella for ye olde feiz!
I'm so there!
Sounds snazzy. So close, too. With that in mind, I'm looking forward to some good discussions and reflections on the changed face of the E3 beast.
I'll be there. It'll be nice to have some time to just hang out and meet people.
It's hard being a game journalist that doesn't drink...:(
Why is the flier ugly: To remind everyone that journalism is not supposed to be pretty--just on point. Oh, and I'm a journalist because I can't do graphic design.
Who is invited: Anyone. Journalist or otherwise. If you are not a journalist, you should buy journalists drinks. This is not required. It's just considered good taste and manners. At least by journalists.
