It's Day 1 of the Electronic Entertainment Expo and Team Kotaku E306 is live in Los Angeles taking cheek-ballooning sips from the gaming news firehose.
Joel's Press Room Mini-Blog
Hey, everybody! With such a surfeit of gaming news this week, we'll be updating this post throughout the day with the break out stories from our continuing coverage. Check it out!
Spot these people to get comment invite cards and wristbands to tonight's Kotaku party. (You can come without one, but with a wristband you drink for free!) And, if you can bring me some AAA batteries for Ashcraft's camera to the press room—I'm the viking-sized blonde dude at the end of the row of iMacs—I'll give you a party wristband. Bring me some coffee and I'll give you two.
Midday update: Our team rushed the floor to get the first hands-on play with many of the next-gen titles, including the first play of the storied Playstation 3 games. Plus I've missed lunch and my head is swimming. Healthy!
A little later update: Tyson Beauchemin, a nice young man from radio station KBVR in Corvallis, Oregon, brought Ashcraft some batteries as we had requested and hoped for. Free drinks at tonight's party for Tyson and his friends!
Later...: Hey, come join me in our Campfire web-based chat room. Why? Because I'm giving away comment invite codes; first-come, first-served.
Much later...: Okay, the Campfire room is hopping, but I've got to step away for a while to do an interview, so no more comments invites for a while. Feel free to keep hanging out and chatting, of course!
