In each of the Msoft's behind-closed-rooms there's a sign that reads "No filming." For developer Bioware's upcoming space opera Mass Effect, the sign should read "Filming." The game is goregous with a 1970's sci-fi palette. "It's a science fiction painting brought to life," says Bioware's Casey Hudson.
The RPG features an interesting in-game conversation function. As characters converse with you, options appear that provide different responses. The cool thing is that there is no load or lag-time after selecting your retort. Talk is fast, like a gun fight."It's verbal combat," says Hudson.
When asked when the title will be released, Bioware said "winter." Even after several journos pressed, the company declined to comment. Verbal combat, indeed.
