OK, so it's not exactly a scoop the size of the Xbox Revealed or PS3 Problems items, but I've got some news on the Nintendo DS.
According to a source, Nintendo is preparing to launch two pretty exciting things for their DS.
One will be the much-anticipated rollout of a WiFi network, which will allow gamers to play and talk with people who aren't in the room with them. No word yet on where the hotspots will be located, but I've been told that the network will also let you download games. They don't have a firm date yet because they are still busy working out the kinks in the system.
The other item is Nintendo's answer to the PSP multimedia capabilities. Apparently, the company is working on using Divx to compress movies into files that can be played directly from DS cartridges, without the need of an accessory. On cartridge should be able to hold a tad more than two hours. Right now it's looking like the first movie to hit the DS will be an animated feature, perhaps from Disney or Pixar.
