As part of their annual MyWishList deal, American Express will be selling a limited number of Xbox 360 Elites starting next month for $300 with five games includes.
The deal, for AmEx cardholders only, will include the Elite plus copies of Ultimate Alliance, Project Gotham Racing 3, Madden NFL 08, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 and Forza 2. Only 150 of the bundles will be available on Dec. 11 at 3 pm. and 7 p.m. I'm not quite sure if that means a total of 150 or 300 of the packs.
At noon on the same day, MyWishList will feature 100 Rock Band special editions for the 36o at $50 a pop. Not bad, not bad at all.

It's times like these I wish I didn't already have an Xbox 360 and Rock Band, and did have an AmEx card, and tons and tons of luck.
Heck ya! I love my AMEX.
@callahan09: you said it friend.
NICE! Maybe I will buy rock band... if Im lucky.
I love my Amex too, but I was sort of forced to growing up. My mom was a VP at Amex for most of my teenage-to-adult life.
My brother wants a 360 for Christmas too. I'll give my mom a call and ask her opinion.
Can someone provide a link to this? I can't seem to find it on their site.
Can you say dDos attack?
Techie gamers love deals, and are willing to take down sites for saving in this case, a few hundred bucks.

This sounds like a great deal, except for one key fact, you have to deal with American Express. My god, they're nightmare. I got a $5 AMEX Giftcard, and when I used it, I got nothing due to a $5 activation charge on all giftcards. Or the fact that their giftcards get classified as Credit Cards at retailers, so you can't use them and a credit card at the same time. That, and their percentage charges for late payments are the highest in the nation.
I'll try for it I suppose, I would keep the 360 but resell some of those games.
More than that though, I want Rock Band. The only reason I don't have it is because of the high price point... 50 dollars? Hell yeah I'm buying it. (If I can)
@Not Ashcraft. Kirbytheslayer: Yeah, this would be a great deal...except you have to actually have an American Express card. Anybody who uses that piece of plastic deserves gifts like this. I just went out and bought Rock Band with my [censored] card, no problem. And since it's through the university, the interest rates are...well, they still suck.
As a balding, overweight male, how much prostitution would I have to do to get $300? That deal is beyond sweet, provided you can get it.
@Huginn: Yeah, seriously, but I don't blame them in the slightest. My guess is AMEX is going to open up some bandwidth ahead of time, but it still won't be enough. It'll be like stalking Ticketmaster for playoff tickets, only 10 times worse. But I think I'll set my calendar to give it a shot.
@Huginn:
Wouldn't you have to deal with the risk of your program resubmitting your credit card information so rapidly?
With the theft protection, it'll probably lock your card number out for being attempted so many times, but I suppose that's better than buying the same Xbox 400 times.
If I had or wanted an AmEx, I'd be all over that Rock Band bundle...
I'm hoping for that 40" 1080P Panasonic HDTV in a few. That'll be my first try followed by the Dell XPS ones and then the 360 / Rock Band ones.
I'd go after the Rock Band bundle if it weren't already sitting in a closet wiating for Christmas. >.<
I suppose I'll go after that $0 car as well. My chances are infintesimally small (and getting no larger by acknowledging its existence here), but it couldn't hurt.
Good luck. They do they every year and the site was hammered the past two years. It was worse than trying to get an xbox 360 on Amazon during Black Friday 2006.
Irony:
I just bought a 360 Pro and Rock Band last week.
On my Amex card.
D:
@hottuna: Thank you~
I hate all those games included with the bundle.
I tried these Amex deals last year, they are like those Amazon specials, they are literally gone in less then a second. Its just luck to get them into your cart. I think they are like a million people pressing F5 on the browser with 150 units on sale.
Gooooood luck. I tried this (as did the 3 other people that hold our business AmEx and nothing. You absolutely can't even get near the site when they do this, as well as even if you DO get something in your cart, it bails or is sold out.
Yeah. Funny how the people with AmEx's are excited, as if they're going to compete with the millions of people vying for 150 units.
We have about as much of a chance as everyone else stuck on the slow crawling site.
Besides, I have a way with unfortunate odds. I won two PSPs from the same meal at McDonalds once. No matter how many years pass between the present and that event, it prevents me from assuming that I don't have a shot in hell.
Yeah, after reading about the "deal" some more I realized it is actually a contest except I still have to pay for the prize. The price may make my odds better than if it were a giveaway but I still have little hope of "winning."
Nice! I got a $2500 Sharp Aquos TV for $1000 last year through WishList. Looks like I'll be jamming on the F5 key this year as well.
@Heliophage:
Yeah, I won the $99 360 Core last year off of Amazon during their 'Customer Vote' deals. Being able to beat out a ton of people by constantly pressing F5 has renewed my faith in these 'no chance in hell' deals.
i'll probably take a swing at one of the Elite deals. love my AmEx card. :)
i don't much expect to actually get one, but ya never know. i'll just flip my 360 and most of those games on ebay or craigslist or something.
Something to be noted it's only open for American AmEx cardholders.
If any of you are familiar with MY WISHLIST....its awesome....if you are actually able to get one of the deals.......
The products they offer are high quality at ridiculous prices....the problem of course is managing to get an order.
I did once 2 years ago on a full Panasonic DVR/DVD-RW Home Theater system.....1500$ in the stores...400$ on My WIshlist...
Love the thing to this day....allows me to record the DVR to DVD...and edit the programs....and Panasonic doesn't even manufacture them anymore. Very Rare item.
Also....don't knock AMEX.....it is THE best card to have.....especially if you travel. No company treats their customers better than AMEX.
Is it Rock Band the game, or Rock Band the game and the drums and the guitar and the mic?
OMG YES.
I think I will get both... if I can...
Does this apply to American Express Blue card holders? If so, I will be a happy manz.
No Amex love for Canadian cardholders =(
FYI people, if you are going to try for these products, there are some really strict rules with this American Express Wishlist.
Both the Rock Band bundle and 360 Elite are classified as "Hot Products" and the rules state that a cardmember is only allowed ONE HOT PRODUCT PER DAY. So in a nutshell, you can only go for either Rock Band or the 360 Elite Bundle. Not both.

WTF....now Kotaku is promoting credit card deals. Well as long as it is for the XBox, its ok.
So when do I see the article that you get 25% off on a PS3 when you apply with a Sony card?
@Not Ashcraft. Kirbytheslayer:
i know it doesn't help you, but i've had nothing but good experiences with the AMEX gift cards. the activation fee didn't come out of my balance, and all the stores i used them at let me use another credit card to cover the rest that the gift card didn't. not sure why it didn't work out that way for you, but you could always try filing a complaint with AMEX.
