It's not the last place I'd look for it, but Tech Dirt points to a Fortune magazine article that examines the stateside success of anime. The best part of the Fortune piece is the tracing of a Japanese show to U.S. computers via BitTorrent and Fansubbers - an ant farm (Fortune's term) of fans who take Japanese TV and eventually get it translatted and dubbed for major torrent distribution. What will the kids come up with next?
Keep warm, Chilly. Thanks for the tip.
