You've seen the coasters, now see what happens if you glue six of them together in cube form! This perlerbead Mario Question Box was created by artist Lostmitten and can be yours for a mere $10.
I just love the look of this thing. It reminds me of church craft bazaars and my Grandma if my Grandma really loved Mario. But, Grandma was really more of a Doom kind of gal.

I would love to fill it with Semtex and hang them around various places! See if anyone would notice.... I know Boston would...
Nice. Makes me wanna go down to the craft store and start one of those right now.
I could probably have the oldsters at the senior center make them for me a lot cheaper and better quality...
Wow I really want to make some of those, but how sturdy are those bead things as coasters? I would have thought they would be brittle and just snap.
If it contains an old school fire-flower, I'm there.
If I only had more beads I'd melt some of mine into beer coasters too. Doesn't get more manly than a cold brewsky off of Kratos face. But yeah that 3D take on it is genius. I reckon I should try some smaller beads however...
@fuzzbuzz:
I don't know about the coster, but I actually used to make this many-a year ago, and despite how it looks, they're actually not that brittle. I remember them being very bendy and flexible, which kept them from snapping. I mean, you could probably snap them if you wanted to, but it would take a little effort.
I am almost sad I didn't think to make that when I was younger. I used to make a lot of bead designs like that. I also learned a valuable lesson, when I burnt myself: "Ow, hot!"
Very informative years those were.
It seems I managed to muddle up that whole reply. Damn it.
I make these bead/pixel art at home and just last week I totally had the idea to do this but have yet to make one.
Now I actually have too. Steal my idea will ya!
*shakes fist*
I made some beadsprite coasters a couple years ago. Turns out, they SUCK as actual coasters, but they look awesome anyway >XD
I bought some coasters from her a while ago (Earthbound and Bubble Bobble). 100% positive feedback from me!
thankfully she's my fiance, so I get all the sweet prototypes! plus, she is pure awesome.
@pupaboy: Sonny, we oldsters are too busy playing poker and staying up all night drinking, chasing the opposite sex, and messing around with Gears of War to help you out. Stick with Runouthearts' gal, she'll do you right.
