Nintendo wants you to put monkeys in strange places. Don't look at me, they said it. In conjunction with photo sharing site SmugMug (no porn, I looked), Nintendo has issued the "DK Climb to the Top Challenge" to commemorate the release of DK Jungle Climber on the Nintendo DS. You have from now until October 1st to submit a picture to the contest page at www.DKcontest.SmugMug.com, showing Donkey Kong climbing in strange and exotic places, with the five best submissions receiving a DS Lite and a copy of the game. Entries can be hand-drawn, digitally manipulated, or actual snapshots, though if you can get a picture of an ape at least twice the size of a man climbing something you've either got other things to worry about, or you're Jane Goodall, in which case you're disqualified. Take that, Goodall!

I don't see how anybody can top the Donkey Kong/Pachter combination you threw together for this post, Fahey. Maybe if you could get Pachter to pose like a monkey, and put an identical Donkey Kong next to him... hrm...
I have a Donkey Kong plush from the Nintendo Store back when they launched Super DonkeyKong for the sfamicom. Got all excited to pull him outta the garage and prop him up somewhere in town until I read Nintendo is also accepting digitally manipulated pictures...
C'mon, some fool is just gonna put a pancake on his head and win, or put some cool intarwebs quote on it, "ORLY!?"
boo
I've got a fun one of my kid being punched by DK - gonna submit it. Totally his idea and a hilarious image. Well to me anyway.
Yeah, the photoshop thing is kind of lame. I wonder how many black and white pictures they're going to get of Donkey Kong shopped on top of the Empire State Building.
@hueg_boss: Not enough.
@hueg_boss: I don't know if it means I have a twisted sense of humor or not, but I thought of the WTC first. Somehow I doubt that would win anything.
@x999x It's a Nintendo contest. There's no way in hell that Nintendo will let anything resembling a meme win.
God, the Nintendo censors are gonna have a hard time with the entries from this contest :)
It's about time that showboating Goodall got what was coming to her.
DK: Jungle Climber is terrible. I played it for an hour yesterday and hated it. You hover over these magic floating pedestals like some sort of alien-fish while collecting bananas and the like.
Oh boy. In before Donkey Kong coming out of someones zipper.
@argh: Yeah, kinda reminds me of this fat dude that gets big when he eats mushrooms.
This isn't so much a comment as it is a correction. I was looking at the rules and it said eight winners, not five. Just letting you guys know.
Show Nintendo your Konkey Dong.
Heck yes! I am the cleverest person ever!!
They oughta put him in Timesplitters.
They did say 'Guns and moneys in all the wrong places', did they not?
@Gamemaster:
"This just in: An entire division of Nintendo of America was discovered after having clawed their own eyes out."
What a great prize... if you're an American. Us British people never get a chance to enter this sort of contest simply 'cos we're in another country.
I mean, what if i had a picture that was potentially prize-winning before I got to the fine print stating 'US residents only'? Way to go, Nintendo, for wasting my time.
