Torrel LLC has taken the best of Nintendo, run it through the "urban market" filter with plans to provide thousands of clothes-conscious gamers with over-sized and wildly tacky Nintendo authorized gear. The line, simply titled Nintendo by Torrel, has officially and garishly launched as of this week and will be available at the Nintendo World Store in New York City, starting November 15. Limited to 1000 pieces each and ranging from hoodies to t-shirts to puffy jackets, it features classic Super Mario Bros. and NES era graphics with an urban... uh, twist.
Shots of the first line taken at the MAGIC trade show in Vegas are available at the official site, as are details on the Nintendo World Store launch party. Go ahead. Look. It will either A. be right up your alley or B. make you pine for a label like The King of Games that knows the definition of "understated."
UPDATE: Clear pics of Nintendo by Torrel after the jump, courtesy of Torrel himself.

Pretty cool !
That looks rather bulky... I don't like bulky...
oh lord.... ganster clothes.
I am so fkn glad this trend has all but died out in Aus
Wow, its all horrible. Ridiculously horrible.
All you fatties out there, nows your chance to snag a bowser coat in 4XL!
nerd clothes for thugs in training :\
Me and my homies r gonna look so kewl wearing those clothes. Any1 who don't like that is a fool.
Ugh, do we really need more kids wearing baggy clothes thinking that it's cool?
I'd prefer not to mix rap and Nintendo, the second I went to the site, I frantically searched for my speakers to shut them the hell off.
Arseholes, don't embed music on your website and place the controls at the BOTTOM where no one can see them immediately.
Lame. Lets take clothes nerds wear and give it to people who are cool. YEAH!
Lame.
wow i sure hope my mario shirt doesnt get me shot now!
definitely worth taking a peek. hopefully i won't have to buy things a size or two smaller since it seems like the clothing line runs bigger than usual like most urban clothing.
Sigh...where's Dave Chapelle and Chris Rock when you need them?
Shit goddamn. Definitely not up my alley.
You guys might want to turn down the volume on your computers before following that link. Especially if you're at work or have hip-hop hating roommates within earshot.
You've been warned.
I like the bob bomb shirt thats about it. Everything else looks super tacky especially the koopa jacket EWW!! Im not going to seek it out but if I see the red bob bomb shirt I might get it but knowing urban wear they love to over charge. Expect those jackets to probably range from $200-$1000 and the shirts $75 and up.
@eternalplayer2345:
How dare you wear the Mario Bros. colors and come into Hyrulian territory.
That style of clothing is so hideous, but yet that bowser jacket is still pretty cool.
...so when's the Nintendo emo kid hoodies coming out?
...
I'd buy those...
casual thugs eheh
@Okari:
Nice!
@t0yrobo:
The sad thing is, I'm inclined to agree, as long as I'm not associated with the "STREET THUG WIGGA 4 LIFE" crap that seems to be prevalent nowadays, I'd gladly buy the Bowser and Mario Bros. sweatshirts.
nerd is cool now
That... song... >.<
I should have taken the advice of others before venturing forth to that abomination of a site. I don't have a problem with hoodies, but the presentation here (as well as the designs themselves) aren't appealing in the slightest to me.
@Okari:
Hylian >.>
Oh, and If you click that link, you'll hear the worst Nintendo-related song ever...
@meisalex:
If Bill Gates were dead, he'd be rolling over in his grave.
Damn son, that song is tight as hell!
.....
In other news, that song is a disgrace. If they were trying to go for the "gangsta" sound, they could do better than that. I've been exposed to it my whole life...
:: cries ::
@FrigidAir44: Gangstas are NOT cool. Gangstas think nerd gear is cool. Which makes nerds cool. So basically nerds are awesome.
That red bomb-omb shirt is win.
Cause' you know having a video game character on the back of your jacket makes you a true 'gangsta'.
the controller one looks sorta nice, at least its not gaudy and blatant.
The Mario bros Nes catridge shirt didn't look too bad
they're mostly garish and grotesque
but they're garish and grotesque to such an extreme that they implode and become charming again
Umm... I uhh... kinda like the Bob-omb shirt, guys.
That's ok, right?
Wasn't... uh... this kind of style popular around a couple decades ago? You know, around the time wearing stuff backwards was popular, and trash bag pants. Can't touch this!
The SMB cart Tee is OK. I might rock that. The other stuff is stupid.
I think that red Bob-Omb shirt looks slammin. I'd definitely fox with that. The Koopa jacket looked cool (not for me) from behind, but when he turned it around and showed a cropped Bowser face... that was a major turnoff like farts during sex. I'll stick to that Bob-Omb shirt, thx.
SUPA MARIO, FOOL.
I want the Bowser one.
Well unlike most ppl on here i aint gonna diss a guy for making clothes for his clothing line based on nintendo cause frankly none of you all have your own clothing line so dont sit an diss someone else who does an is making money probly more then any of us here.
As for the clothes i wouldnt pimp that tho i give the guy cred for trying to be diffrent.
@balls187: agreed.
i hate it when anything hip-hop comes up on this site, i forget how many abject haters there are of an entire genre due to its radio exposure.
Reminds me of the 80s...
I'm feeling some of the things I saw on that rack in the video streaming off the Torrel website.
Personally, I prefer the King of Games look, but not the King of Games price. I hope this Torrel guy doesn't decide to charge boatloads of dollars to secure this gear. Although, most likely, he probably will, just because it's been certified from Nintendo directly.
I'm all for Nintendo/Retro gaming T-Shirts and some of the stuff sold in Gamestation/Game in the UK is cleverly done and stylish.
This stuff is just ugly, and too much. It will also be overpriced. The Bowser T-Shirt is too much in your face and more kiddy aimed I feel. Oh and the music bites on the link.
Slade you sounds like a douche writing "pimp" and "cred".
Anyways this bothers me on so many levels cause the person that started that rip off of a clothing company, probably never play any of those games.
Just shows you how people will capitalize on things they know nothing about. This is America "land of no outter thought.
Hmmm... maybe the word "subtlety" is not in their vocabulary?
I'm just imagining the sweet ladyz I'll be pulling when I make the scene in my Bowser jacket. I'll have to beat them off with a hammer. Or a fireball.
So ummm...when they say "urban"...are they really saying black?
Just visited the site......sounds like SOMEBODY has fruity loops!
LAAAAAAAAME!
@aphexacid: Hey! I use FL Studio too! But my stuff sounds nothing like that. That is a mess.
Joke one: So that's where Dave Chapelle went!
Joke two: If I had a time machine, I'd buy these, go back to 1992, and make a killing.
The Koopa and NES jackets looks "phat"! lol.
@Polluted: Or if you just hate garbage. That embedded music is NOT hip-hop.
I'd wear the tees maybe if they wheren't baggy.
I'd like to see some of the other stuff they have. That video showed the same 4 pieces, when there were racks full of other shirts and whatnot.
Not that I'd wear any of it because I don't wear baggy clothes, but that's why I won't reserve judgment on the stuff.
they look cool
wow THAT SUCKED... i'VE HEARD HIP HOP remixes to nintendo stuff and I've even seen a DJ when a battle with all nintendo effects. That link above was totally wack! Also to his designs are very amateurish. The baggy thing is dumb also since NERD and Lupe both wear fitting stuff... Oh well he'll learn. I hope he got mario's blessing or the pokemon boys will be picking him up.
Nerds couldn't find style even if it teabagged them. The NES controller jacket didn't look too bad. I would even go as far as it being socially cool.
Updated pics of the full Fall 07 line, plus word from Torrel that the embedded music has been removed.
