@INDY_AKA_REX - Essentially you are correct: this is a variation on CTF known as "Steal the Bacon". It's basically CTF with only one flag. I first saw this mode in Bungie's Myth. So, yeah, not so new at all, just rebranded.

Ew! Horrible, seeing The Simpsons pimping The Sims like that. Also, is it me or does EA totally overestimate the celebrity of Will Wright?

Just goes to show you though... even with all the money in EA's coffers, the rights to one of the funniest comedy shows of all time, and with an amazing engine and lots of co-operation from The Simpsons voice actors etc, you can still end up with a turd.

Also I think if you're going to parody other games, your game needs to not be shit. This is really the area in which The Simpsons falls down in. Its shitness.

@Krimmson: Right, I did indeed see the word "Neverguest". Though seeing as how the game will be parodying all sorts of franchises, it's not hard to imagine EA grouping a bunch of the fantasy RPG cliches into one level.

OK, I just watched the clip. All the blatant product placement in the demo was pretty bad, but the cameo actually makes me feel ill.

That's a nice cameo, but the Harry Gregson-Williams bit was cool too. I think it's interesting that he's scoring two games with heavy Middle Eastern war themes in the next year (MGS4).

I cracked up. I'm a Simpsons fan and a gamer. That was for me and I cracked up.

One thing that annoys me a lot (aside from the game being so awful, and disappointing for a Simpsons fan like myself) is the way EA feel compelled to advertise EA in their fucking games. This isn't a game about EA, it's a game about the Simpsons, yet there are EA logos scattered throughout the game world which seems really inappropriate to me. The Will Wright thing is just taking things too far. No one gives a fuck about EA, but people love the Simpsons and that's why they'd be interested in this game.

The Simpsons game does look like a must-buy for any simpsons fan.. rent for any gamer.

Will Wright was cool, but i'm a little bit concerened about COD now. The perks system seemed cool when i first heard about it, but now that theres an expierience thing attached, that could really mess it up. I hated that in BF2142.
