As previously mentioned, Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto isn't stepping down anytime soon. Here he talks about what keeps work fresh, aging movie directors and money. We'll be posting more clips from our one-on-one with Miyamoto throughout the day and evening so be sure to check back.
Note regarding translation: while I translated the retirement quote directly, Nintendo's Bill Trinen translated more the meaning and the feeling. Both are correct!

Sure Bashcraft we all know that you really don't speak Japanese. ;)
Wow, now its on video. Miyamoto must love that translator, I've seen him before in another video.
that man deserves to be knighted by the queen.
is the stream working correctly? it cuts off every few secs for me and stops at the half way point
BTW nice shoes crecente
I love the shirt that Shiggy and his translator are wearing. Where can I buy it?
That's a pretty cool interview, Trinen speaks pretty well.
Anybody else notice they're wearing those King of Games shirts?

@Hoogie:
I put it my earlier comment, you can find the link there. They're not cheap from what I recall
My hero forever.
Yes, but what does this do to the wife-ometer?
Damn dude, did he paint his pants on?
I have the white shirt Miyamoto is wearing. Pretty spiffy! Although I should've gotten a Medium one because the Large is a bit too big for me, and no returns for wrong sizes, so if you're planning on buying one, make sure you know exactly what size you are.
Well, I'm gonna take lots of shit for this....
I think the dude should go work for LeapFrog and focus on that type of product, that's what he wants to do - kids shit.
While I have mass respect for the Motomansan, his new 'fresh' stuff bores the fucking shit right out of my asshole, it doesn't even wanna hang around.
I think he sees he can't top his own formulas that led to such wonderful titles like SM64 and OoT, I mean Sunshine was sub-par and I could care less about Pikmin. IMHO...his hand is in too many pots cooking up food, leading to stale bread and leftovers for dinner.
It seems like it's this big trend..."Oh motogodsan, what in the world are your new hobbies? What funny outlandish games will you have us all pawing over and loving next because of what you're doing as a hobby?" *odd slurping sounds and grunting*
Meh, for me Motoroto has lost the touch that connected us together at one point. It's a cold hard world now moto, a cold hard world.
what i wouldn't bive to be bill, being around miyamoto all day .............please tell me im not alone in this feeling
not related...
but i love the shoes man
simply love em.
This video keeps pausing repeatedly and I DO have a good connection... get better video hosting Kotaku!!
Thats good that hes not retireing, more mario forever
just saw the previous post...i take my comment back!
this video is proof that brian, brian, bill, and shiggy all have pretty rad jobs all around.
good job, guys, on keeping us posted, with both interesting discussion topics & fashion tips.
"I think the dude should go work for LeapFrog and focus on that type of product, that's what he wants to do - kids shit."
Very true, since Miyamoto co-produced Silent Hill and even directed the Exorcist, right?
You're an idiot for thinking that his previous works are more "mature" compared to now. He's making what he's always made, you've just grown up since SM64.
@eternalplayer2345: "what i wouldn't bive to be bill, being around miyamoto all day .............please tell me im not alone in this feeling"
You are not alone in your feeling. I wouldn't mind being around him all day. I love that man. I'd feed him and even wipe his arse if he asked me to. I think that Bill also translates and localizes Nintendo games too.
@SanjiX: that's bill trinen, DUHHH he's the head of localization for NOA. Jeez... Ninty fanboy n00b.
I haven't been keeping up with the times but did Kotaku snag a private/kick-back interview with Miyamoto? Or what is it that I am looking at here exactly?
@sadkermit: LOL! I'm laughing because you're a tool.
I don't know what it is, but that old man is made of hotness. Sexy brain. But yeah, @Polyh3dron, video playback is far from good.
i keep clicking the bar at 7:02 and hearing what i think is a gay grunt while miyamoto slightly spreads his legs. gross. anyway, cool interview.
Bill Trinen is the man partially responsible for getting me my games!
@EnigmaNemesis: wearing a 'hang, showing your boxers never was cool neither is it today or will be in the future, and listening to hip hop aint "cool" either, even if your 14.
The t-shirts come from the King of Gamers makers of clothing. A quick google should find them for you. And yeah, the shirts are A) Rare and B) Expensive...but C) worth it.
This interview is like a conversation with Chewbacca. Everyone seems to understand each other but don't speak the same language.

*LMAO*
Good to see him willing to battle on into dotty old age.
Let's face it, most of his games look like senile hallucinations anyway.
Finally a fun question.
