Elijah Wood (shown here with his head super-imposed next to me) and Hobbit-buddy Dominic Monaghan are apparently hardcore gamers. The two were in and out of the show for most of the week. Here's a run down of their doings:
The hobbish duo were first spotted sneaking in through a back door to the Playstation 3 unveiling at Sony Studios. Apparently Wood, who hosted the MTV Xbox 360 unveiling last week, went fanboy when the PS3 took to the spotlight, wooing and clapping with the rest of the room.
The two were spotted a little later in the week at a behind closed doors demo of the 360 and it's games. The two sat in a overheated and increasingly crowded demo room to see some of the upcoming titles for Microsoft's next console. Msoft staffers kept finding reasons to pop their heads in to make sure everything was OK. No wonder no one was available to give me a booth tour.
I hear that Wood and Monaghan aren't game-posers, they really know their shit and through-out the show grilled the execs at the different companies for details. Kick ass. Now they need to post their answers on a blog like say Kotaku.
The two also caught the King Kong presentation, a definite must for anyone on the show floor this week. On his way out of the Ubi booth the throngs of E3 goers spotted the two and gave pursuit, slowing them for photos and autographs. The two uber-stars finally escaped to the peace, quiet and air conditioning of the upstairs WWE lounge.
That sounds a lot like my week, accept without the fans, access or air conditioning. I'll tell you what, if I were famous I'd make people carrying me around 100 percent of the time and have them chew my food for me. I'd also look into a way to get them to do my urinating, but that could be tricky.
